In 2018, with much fanfare in the media, District Attorney Larry Krasner publicly “exonerated” Dontia Patterson, a convicted killer.

The newly emancipated Patterson subsequently sued the city for being wrongly incarcerated, and collected $1.7 million from taxpayers.
